Upcoming Projects!
Since the loss of SewHip and the stagnation of craftygeeks on LJ, I have so been missing a place to post my fiddly projects! I find my projects have a better chance of seeing the light of day when I'm sharing them as I go; I tend to slack and I find sharing my progress is just enough of the right kind pressure to get me off my ass and following through. So here we go! New year, new tools (which make sharing media a warm fuzzy experience), a clean slate!
I'm starting a fresh group on VOX just for sharing projects - upcoming, in progress, and finished works of any kind: painting and drawing, comic panels, random doodles, model making, photography, sewing, needlepoint, sculpture, bizarre installations, the perfect mixed tape playlist, found art, short films, unique domestic accomplishments (hey, organization can be artistic!), cooking, home improvements - even failed experiments.
The group is public but you need to get an invite to get in; it's nothing personal, I just think there's a healthier dynamic when it's more intimate and friendly! And as this is the first week of VOX groups in beta, the entire exercise will be new to all of us! :) If no one wants in, I will try and live with the shame of being the first group removed on VOX... but I'll manage!
In the works for me:
- a cafe curtain for the kitchen
- painting some fresh shirts and sewing some new bloomers for AJ
- ... which probably means I'll be making matching sets for her BabyDoll too - my first doll clothes! How horrifying.
